Cycle Taiwan 2010
(in aid of Clatterbridge Cancer Research)

On the 20th November 2010 four members of the MGF Team set out to cycle across the diverse terrain of Taiwan for Clatterbridge Cancer Research (CCR). The challenge started in the Southern most tip and saw us battle through mountains, valleys, gorges and canyons to reach the towns of Heng Chen, Chenggon, Changbin, Hualien and Taroko to the final destination of Taipei. We covered a colossal 420 km over five gruelling days of cycling.
The event was both physically and emotionally challenging for the whole team but more so for Leah as the event ended so close to the one-year anniversary of Mark's death.
We completed the challenge for CCR in memory of Leah's husband and our friend Mark Gorry. Mark sadly passed away from testicular cancer on the 29th November 2009.
During Mark's year long battle with testicular cancer he began to set up a foundation to raise awareness and work towards raising £1 million for Clatterbridge and supporting charities. We feel immensely proud to have completed this challenge in Mark's name.
