Race Night

Date : 14th November 2009

Event host : Freddie Moran

Venue : The Albion - Widnes

The Event : Thank you to everyone who attended our great race night on the 14th November! The night eventually kicked off at about 9.30pm, once the Rugby had finished of course - although England could have turned up to play the match!

The atmosphere was fantastic and everyone really got into the spirit of things, having loads of fun and digging deep - helping to make our first fundraising event a successful one. The Albion did a great night at hosting the event, as did Bernard who ran the main event.

Freddie Moran and Liam Kavanagh had the important job of making sure all bets were taken and of course paid out to the worthy winners!! Linda Murphy and Janet Moran did a fabulous job of selling raffle tickets and promoting the prizes of a mobile phone, Champagne and booze hampers aswell as sending home the important message of looking out for the signs of Testicular Cancer.

A big thank you to all the local businesses who made the night possible, Alpha computers, Creative Pulse, The Village and The Albion, as well as a wonderful stall on Widnes market who donated the baskets for the raffles.

Rumour has it that the last stragglers of the night were in for a treat as close family and friends did a hilarious version of The Full Monty!

This event was particularly special to all who attended as it is the only event that Mark was able to be involved in. He had a great big smile on his face all night and thoroughly enjoyed talking to family, friends and visitors who had come along to show their support. This event allowed Mark to see his dreams begin to come true.

Amount raised : £819.97
