MGF 'Walk For Awareness' 2011

For the 2nd year running, the Mark Gorry Foundations Freddie Moran has led a gang of men on a 'walk for awareness' to Pontins in Southport. Also for the 2nd year running one of the lads did the 29.2 mile walk in his flip flops - ouch!

The success of the walk in 2010 made the guys determined to make this an annual walk and so they set off at 6am on the 10th June 2011. As one of the chosen charities of the Mayor Of Halton, the Mayor, Cllr Keith Morley came along to see the gang off and wish them well - a great start to the walk!

The walkers stopped along the way to talk to people about what they were doing and why. They were made up to be interviewed by the local press when they got to Pontins and the story made the paper!

The walk is a walk for awareness, to get men together to talk about the signs and symptoms of testicular cancer and for them to talk to others along the way. Aswell as raise awareness the guys raised over £1000 too! Wow!
