Philly Morris - CEO Check em Lads

About Me: I was a roadie when I left school for The La's and other local bands along time ago! I was in the British Downhill alpine Baor skiing team in 1992-93-94 but lost my spot due to injury. I served in the British army for many years and saw service in Belfast, Bosnia, Germany, Africa and other places.

I set up checkemlads.com in 2004 when I had Testicular Cancer.

How I know Mark: I was visiting a young man with testicular cancer in Clatterbridge hospital when I met mark, he was in the bed a few rows down and he had me giggling within minutes, he knew me from checkemlads and just said "Are you fuckin philly?"

Funniest Story: We were sat outside the hospital in the sun with two other young people with cancer, some nuns came up to us with a guitar and asked if we wanted a song, Mark said under his breath, "Oh for fucks sake, these can fuck off, I am not in the mood for god and all that shit!" I grabbed the guitar and started to sing a Ray Lamontagne song to which Mark started to clap, closed his eyes and move his head from side to side like Gareth from the office with David Brent, the nuns took the guitar back and mark started to say "Oi... give him it back will ya... oi...."

My Contribution to MGF: We are doing the Mark Gorry memorial trek up Snowdon in the summer on his birthday, which will be a great but sad day for me as I miss him very much.
