The O2 and Ventura London to Paris Cycle
(in aid of The Mark Gorry Foundation)

On Saturday 5th May 2011 53 people from Ventura & O2 set off on a sponsored cycle challenge. The cycle started from The O2 in London and the finish line was Paris - meeting point was underneath the Eiffel Tower. The cycle was 310 miles and took 3.5 days. Wow that's a lot of people with sore butts by the end! Although Mark Gorry was employed by O2, he spent a great amount of time at Ventura especially during the launch of a new system. When Ventura wanted to take on a challenge for a good cause, they naturally thought of The Mark Gorry Foundation.
We are delighted that Ventura and O2 made this possible, with several months of planning it cant have been an easy thing to organise. To top off the wowfactor to this being done for The Mark Gorry Foundation, the cyclists raised over £45,000!
Because of this fantastic amount being raised, we were able to donate £40,000 to Clatterbridge towards the renovation project that is taking place there on the Mould room - a place Mark spent some time and had a mask made for his treatment.
We will be using the other £5,000 towards funding of testicular cancer awareness projects.
